This year Denise and Myself partook in the Innovation Challenge at NAIT (Hosted by the Mawji Center, and sponsored by Raptor Mining) as Team Innoflux. We were challenged to come up with a way to innovate the home-buying process. So, being tech people, we decided we'd prototype an app, which we lovingly called Homii, a play on homie and home. At the time of writing this ( early March 2020 ), Canadian media outlets are warning the public that the COVID-19 virus could potentially become a widespread pandemic. Urging the public to stock up on medication, non-perishable foods, and personal hygiene items. Go to any grocery store at this time, and you'll notice empty shelves of what used to be toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and canned food. The Mawji Centre for New Venture and Student Entrepreneurship is located on the third floor of the beautiful CAT building at the Northern Alberta Institute Of Technology (NAIT). They hold events like pitch competitions, info sessions, and networking events. And have local entrepreneurs available for student meetings.
But more than anything, they're a massive supportive force that helps you as a student entrepreneur make things happen.
